in the final round. |
| Ten teams were on hand for the Cooper
River 4th of July race. New commers to the circute were, Tom
Story and his beautiful 38 chevy Pro Mod and Mac Burris's 1982
Dodge Charger. Other teams competing were Jim Dickey from Fairborn
GA, Don Roddy from Rockmart GA, Jerry Davis from Greenwood SC,
Keith Floyd from Lexington NC, Rickey Bowie from Greenwood SC,
Harold Barnhardt from Lexington NC, Brad Bowen from Sebring
Florida and Greg Loflin from NC. |
| First Round of qualifying started with
temps in the high 90's at 6:01 pm. By 6:30 pm SFC had completed
first round Qualifying with Jim Dickey being the man to beat. |
| Second round qualifying started at 7:30
pm with thunder in the background. Two pairs of SFC racers were
able to qualify before the rain started. At 9:26 pm, qualifying
resumed with Don Roddy and Jim Dickey followed by Tom Story. |
