| ----Mother
Nature played a big part in the SFC / Ware Shoals Dragway race.
From midnight till mid morning, the track was hammered with
heavy rain/ thunderstorms and wind. Despite all of the above,
6 SFC teams were determined to give the Ware Shoals spectators
a race. |
| ----The
low qualifier of the race was Don Roddy and his all girl crew
from Rockmart Ga. Next was Jerry Davis's Carolina Wildman driven
by Dan Pettinato from Woodruff SC. Jim Dickey was number 3 followed
by Rickey Bowie, Greg Loflin and Keith Floyd. |
| ----As
the night progessed the tempertures droped from 80 to low 50's.
Heavy rain earlier plus the temperture drop created some driving
challenges for all of the racers as the night progressed. |
| ----With
the car count being low, SFC race director, Jerry Davis and
the SFC members elected run all of the cars in the second round
again, including a burnout contest with Keith Floyds 63 Vette
won. |
| ----Final
round eliminations brought the 1999, 2000, 2001 SFC champ Jim
Dickey and Don Roddy togeather for the final run. Jim took the
win with a strong run with a 4.777. |
