Cecil Roberson, owner and driver, has a long history of being
involved in the sport of drag racing. His experience includes
the direct involvement with various locally owned teams for
more than 15 years. He has a reputable history of engineering
and building motors for serious competition. During 1974-1979,
Cecil was a crew member of the Prospector Racing Team which
raced a BB funny car and competed in many local NHRA events.
In 1976, Cecil ran the lowest E.T. at the Suffolk Raceway while
racing in the "street-car" division, driving a full-body
street car with street tires. The 355 cubic inch Chevrolet was
a motor of which Cecil built; his E.T. was 10.91 seconds in
a 1/4 mile. In the 1980's, Cecil competed in the Super Gas and
Super Pro classes and won four WCS meets and numerous events
in the Super Pro class. |
